BRANSON, Mo. – Susan Mann was recently combing through her elderly parents’ financial records when she noticed significant amounts missing from their bank account. This discovery led her to investigate further, only to find her parents had unknowingly purchased three timeshares with Branson Nantucket.
“After digging deeper, I realized they had purchased not just one, but three timeshares with Branson Nantucket,” Mann said.
Alleged Deceptive Practices Targeting Vulnerable Seniors
Six years after her parents’ first timeshare purchase, Mann alleges that Branson Nantucket misled her parents, who are now in their 80s and facing serious health issues.
“They thought they were signing paperwork to rent out the unit they initially purchased,” Mann explained. “Now my father is 92 and my mother is 84. They’ve been completely taken advantage of — one has dementia, and the other can’t hear or walk.”
Mann provided letters her parents had sent to Branson’s Nantucket management, describing confusion over loan payments and claiming they felt “extreme pressure” to sign documents.
Industry-Wide Concerns: Insight from the Better Business Bureau
In an interview, Better Business Bureau (BBB) Investigator Brian Edwards highlighted that complaints similar to Mann’s are common in the timeshare industry.
“Consumers often report being pressured into contracts they don’t fully understand,” Edwards noted. “They’re told timeshares are easy to resell or exit, but in reality, these are often lifetime contracts that are difficult to escape.”
The BBB has issued a warning to consumers regarding Branson Nantucket, citing a pattern of complaints that include:
- Failure to honor contract cancellations
- Refusal to issue refunds
- Misleading sales tactics
- Poor customer service

Frustrated with her experience, Mann turned to the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in hopes of finding a solution.
“The experience was far from satisfactory. I eventually contacted the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in hopes of finding some resolution,” Mann said.
